DISCUSSION

A hallmark of professional behavior is the personal commitment to the ongoing a question of new knowledge. The present study was conduct.
The aim of the study & to assess the knowledge of puberty girls regarding importance/maintenance of menstrual hygiene pre-experimental approach was used for this study. The knowledge of puberty girls was assessed by using structural questionnaire regarding importance/maintenance of menstrual hygiene. The sample was selected by using convenience sampling technique.
In the present knowledge of puberty girls regarding importance/maintenance of menstrual hygiene was given. The post test was conducted after seven days of teaching programme using the same tool.
The same findings are discussed in this chapter with reference to the objectives of the study.
Table 1 shows the demographic characteristics of puberty girls selected.
With regard to the age, most of the puberty girls belong to 11-12 years (16) out of 60 (20%) 41 out of 60(68%) of belonged to the 13-14 years 4 out of 60 66% of puberty girls are belongs to 15 years out of 60(0.1%) puberty girls belongs to 16 years.
With regard to the religion 5 out of 60 8.33% puberty girls are belongs to Muslim religion, 45 out of 60(75%) puberty girls belongs to Hindu religion, 10 out of 60 16.6% puberty girls belongs to Christian religion, out of 60 0% other religion.
With regard to the education 60 out of 60(100%) puberty girls are belongs to 8th standard, 0 out of 60 7th, 9th, 10th standard puberty girls are 0%
With regard to the type of family 46 out of 60(76.6%) of puberty girls are belongs to small   family, 12 out of 60(12%) of puberty girls are belongs to big family, 1 out of 60 (100%) puberty girls are belongs to none of parents, out of 60 (0.1%) of puberty girls are belongs to broken family  with regard to the source of information 4 out of 60 (6.1%) of puberty girls are received the information from TV, 2 out of 60(3%) of puberty girls are got information from newspaper, 25 out of 60(41.66%) of puberty girls are got information from family, 28 out 60(46.66%) of puberty girls are got information from friends.
1.      The first objective of the study was to find out the knowledge of puberty girls regarding importance/maintenance of menstrual hygiene.
The analysis of overall knowledge during the pretest revealed that 60 out of 60 (100%) had inadequate knowledge regarding importance/maintenance of menstrual hygiene this indicates the knowledge of subjects was inadequate & it was necessary for the investigators to improve the knowledge of the subjects by giving structured teaching program on importance/maintenance of menstrual hygiene.
2.      The second objective of the study was to find out the effectiveness of structural teaching programme.
The analysis of overall knowledge during pretest revealed that 60 out of 60(100%) had adequate knowledge before structured teaching programme. The data revealed that 3 (3.33%) out of 60 had inadequate knowledge, 17 out of 60(28.33%) had adequate knowledge 41 out of 41 (68.33%) had adequate knowledge. This revealed that after structured teaching programme the subjects had improved their knowledge.
The hypothesis the main post score (23.88) was higher than the main pretest knowledge score (12.66).  This shows that there was a significant difference between pretest & post test knowledge score of puberty girls regarding importance/maintenance of menstrual hygiene. It implies that the structured teaching programme had a significant effect in increasing the puberty girls knowledge regarding importance/maintenance of menstrual hygiene.
Epilogue
This chapter dealt with discussion of the study findings with respect to objectives of the study.
